Has it been 4 years already?

Hey all,

I don't ever use my xanga account anymore.  I just felt like blogging today because it's been 4 years to the day that my best friend Jack Chen passed away in a tragic car accident.  I've always felt that friends and family are all we really have in life.  Jobs, hobbies, interests will come and go but only your family and friends are there for you through thick and thin.  And losing great people like Jack makes me appreciate what I have so much more.  So on that end, I just want to tell everyone to live your life to the fullest.  Cause you never know when you might not get a chance to ever take that trip, eat that dinner, dance with that person, or talk to that friend again.  A good friend is not something you find easily...so go eat dinner with that special someone once in a while.  Say hi to him whenever you can.  Go to that party he asks you to go to, even if you're not really in the mood and vice versa invite him to come party even he's not the party type.  You never know when you won't have the chance to enjoy those moments with those people again.  So LOVE LIFE!

And to Jack, you were the most admirable person I've ever met in my life.  Nothing was ever given to you and you always put 150% effort into whatever you did.  I always looked up to you when we were growing up, Jack.  You didn't have nearly as many advantages as me growing up, but through your sheer perserverance, determination, and will power you overcame every obstacle you ever faced and surpassed any expectations you ever set for yourself (which was always the highest).  I was blessed to have been friends with such a wonderful person growing up.  I think in a way you inspired me to be a better person simply beacuse of what a wonderful person you were.  I often think about you, especially when I'm out doing something I know you would've loved.  It still makes me sad to think of all the times we've missed out on since you've been gone.  Will is getting married this year, and I'm sure if you were still here with us, you'd be joining me and Ali in China for the big ceremony.  The three musketeers, back together again.  You were one of the brothers I never had, but always wished I did.  And even though you decided to go to UVA when I went to VT, I don't feel as though we ever drifted apart, even in your final days.  I just wished I had more time to just chill with you man.  I know you're in a better place now and that you look down on me, Will, Ali, the Three Musketeers, all of our family and friends and the old Burke crew.  I live my life to the fullest, and since your death, I've learned not to take anything for granted.  You will always be missed.  You'll always be in my heart Jack.

R.I.P Jack Tse-Hou Chen

So to all my friends, come eat with me, party with me, dance with me, drink with me, hang out with me, talk to me 'cause you never know until it's too late that "it's plain to see...things will never be the same."
